Work
I work as a strategic creative partner to brands looking to define, refine, or rethink how they express themselves. From new initiatives to established identities, I guide projects from concept through execution, bringing ideas to life through work that resonates with audiences and delivers on business objectives.
Grounded in design and driven by curiosity across disciplines, I bring clarity to complex challenges and coherence to brand expression. My work spans industries, mediums, and scales, from global brands to grassroots startups. Every project is shaped by its context, guided by concept, and built with purpose.
My work has been recognized by AIGA, the Art Directors Club, and the Webby Awards, and published in The One Club Annual, Lust by James Victore, Print Magazine, WIRED, The New Republic, and the ADC Annual.

Concept
Every project needs a North Star: a guiding idea that establishes a point of view, gives the work direction, and provides a standard against which every decision can be measured.
A concept is more than an idea. It’s the connective thread that brings a project together, shaping its visual language, voice, and expression across media. It gives the work purpose and creates a foundation for every decision that follows.
As a designer and creative strategist, I believe constraints create focus. A strong concept introduces the right kind of friction, challenging assumptions and giving creative decisions meaning beyond personal preference.
Process
DISCOVER
Every project begins with understanding. I immerse myself in the subject, exploring its culture, context, and underlying challenges to uncover insights and connections that open up new possibilities.
EXPLORE
Insight becomes a starting point for exploration. I work across language, imagery, form, and ideas, testing possibilities and following unexpected connections. Through iteration, the North Star comes into focus, turning a range of possibilities into a clear conceptual direction.
REFINE
With the concept established, the focus shifts to craft. Typography, color, composition, imagery, and systems are refined to create a cohesive visual language. I stay involved through production, ensuring the original thinking carries through to the final execution, where the work must communicate with clarity and purpose.
About Me
I grew up around punk rock, skateboarding, and art. Before I knew what graphic design was, I was drawn to the visual language of the culture around me: skate logos, rave flyers, record sleeves, and magazines. I was always drawing, taking photos, and putting images together.
After high school, I moved to San Francisco just as the internet was beginning to change everything. Living with a professional skateboarder, I stumbled into a job at a startup where we were hired as “Cool Consultants.” It was my first real introduction to graphic design, and the moment an existing obsession became a profession.
That curiosity has taken different forms over the years, from teaching typography and graphic design at Pratt Institute to teaching surf lessons in Rockaway. Outside of work, I’ve run a soccer club, First Touch FC, for 13 years. We still play five mornings a week at 7 a.m. When I’m not designing, I’m usually surfing, in the garden, or somewhere near the ocean.
The medium has changed over the years, but the impulse hasn’t. I’m still drawn to discovering things, making connections, and figuring out how to bring ideas to life. I still love design.
