Unexpected Delight
For a company known more for its technology than its personality, the Microsoft Store offered a chance to build a more human connection with the public. Centered on unexpected delight, the identity transformed the brand into an inviting, interactive experience built around discovery.
At Collins, I helped develop the store’s visual identity across logo, signage, collateral, uniforms, and digital interfaces. Bright, flat colors replaced the glossy effects associated with the brand, while interactive elements and intuitive design made the space feel more approachable. A 180-foot wall of plasma screens brought the idea to life through 12 narrative scenarios, combining illustration, motion graphics, and film to reveal the possibilities of Microsoft products through moments of magic and emotion.
